Building Tomorrow Together: CWWF 2025 – Embracing the Future of Work through Social and Solidarity Economy
Connect with our Co-operative and Labour network for a groundbreaking conference focused on building a resilient, sustainable, and equitable future of work. Explore the power of social and solidarity economics to create a more just and prosperous Caribbean.Labour is an essential constituent of the Social and Solidarity Economy ecosystem. The global labour movement has been one of the oldest purveyors of solidarity, the critical element in the mobilization of all forms of social capital amongst the wider working class and vulnerable communities.
This conference is the opportunity to forge strategic alliances between Co-operatives, Credit Unions, Trade Unions and all people’s institutions in developing local and regional Resilience, Transformation and Sustainability, three core pillars of Social Justice.
Join us from Wednesday 7th May to Friday 9th, 2025, as we unite workers, policymakers, cooperatives, and thought leaders at the Caribbean World of Work Forum to shape an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable workplace for all!
Resilience: Co-operatives leverage their unique structure to address socio-economic, environmental, and cultural challenges, particularly for vulnerable populations. They serve as a vital mechanism for reducing vulnerability and enabling recovery during disruptions.
Transformation & Modernization: The co-operative movement continuously adapts its systems and practices, driven by co-operative principles. This includes innovations in governance, economic management, and the adoption of new technologies (AI, Digitalization, etc.) to better serve members.
Sustainability: Co-operatives develop innovative solutions to enhance their impact on sustainable development. Examples include platform co-operatives and green co-operatives, fostered through initiatives like co-operative incubator systems that support women, youth, and marginalized groups.
