Joel Edwards 

Presentation Title – The Future of the Credit Union Movement in Trinidad and Tobago
Mr. Joel Edwards is a Chartered Accountant who also holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Management (1976) and a Masters Degree in Accounting (1977) from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica. Mr. Edwards has had a long and distinguished career in the Co-operative Credit Union Movement, having served as the President of Grastaff Credit Union (now VENTURE Credit Union), a member of the Credit Union League’s Supervisory Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of the Co-operative Development Bank and as Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Credit Union Stabilisation Board to name a few.

He has also held a number of senior Managerial and Executive positions in the fields of Management Information Systems, Internal Auditing, Corporate Planning, Strategic Planning/Business Development, Corporate Services and Financial Controllership at a number of large private and public companies
Edwards is also currently Chairman of the Val Turton Carl Osborne Foundation and he was appointed Chairman of a Cabinet-Appointed Team for the Implementation of the Recommendations of the Cabinet-Appointed Committee for the future of the Co-operative Sector in Trinidad and Tobago in 2021. Most recently, in 2023, he was appointed as Chairman of CEPEP.
