Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies (CCLCS) Honored with the Tobago House of Assembly’s (THA) Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Strategy Award

Scarborough, Tobago — [2025] — Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies (CCLCS) proudly announces that it has been recognized with the prestigious OSH Strategy Award by the Tobago House of Assembly’s (THA) Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department. This esteemed accolade underscores the College’s unwavering commitment to advancing occupational safety and health initiatives within the community and contributing meaningfully to the development of Tobago’s OSH framework.

The award ceremony, held recently at the THA, was attended by distinguished officials and stakeholders dedicated to fostering safe and healthy working environments across Tobago. CCLCS was honored in recognition of its significant contributions to the implementation and promotion of the THA’s OSH strategy, reflecting the College’s dedication to fostering a culture of safety, well-being, and proactive risk management among its students, staff, and partner organizations.

In accepting the award, CCLCS expressed sincere gratitude to the THA’s OSH Department for the recognition and reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to enhancing occupational safety standards. The College aims to serve as a catalyst for positive change, providing education, training, and resources that empower individuals and organizations to prioritize health and safety in all aspects of work and community life.

The award presentation was graced by several notable figures, including Assemblyman Sonny Craig, Assistant Secretary, Office of the Chief Secretary; Dr. Andre Vincent Henry, Director of the OSH Department; Ms. Simone Mitchell, Manager of the Scarborough Campus; and Mr. Colin Batholomew, Executive Manager of Innovation and Enterprise Development. Special commendation was extended to Ms. Mitchell for her exemplary leadership and effective representation of CCLCS’s mission and values in the realm of occupational safety and health.

Commenting on the achievement, Ms. Mitchell expressed pride in the College’s role in promoting OSH awareness and practices. “This recognition validates the hard work and dedication of our team in fostering a safe learning and working environment. We remain committed to advancing safety initiatives and serving as a model for other institutions and organizations in Tobago and beyond,” she stated.
