Caron Asgarali – Educator, Author, Inspirational Speaker, Publisher, and Advocate

A chemistry teacher who concocts stories, a runner who races against herself and a self-published author who writes peacefully! Caron Asgarali is an educator, an inspirational speaker, a self-published author and a survivor of gun violence. She worked with Mr Winston Dookeran as an editorial assistant and with local and international diaspora journalist, Parasram (Paras) Ramoutar to develop and publish his autobiography.

When not behind the desk, Caron advocates for peace through Project RARE. She was one of twenty BBC Outlook Inspirations nominees in 2018, received a Hero’s Award in 2019 and most recently a LOANI’s Miracle Woman Award in 2024.

In 2021 she launched the Writing to Heal online six-week programme that continues until today.
