CCLCS Contributes to Fisheries Safety Initiative in Guyana

The Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies (CCLCS) collaborated with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) under the FISH4ACP project to support occupational safety and health within Guyana’s fishing sector. As part of this initiative, CCLCS contributed to the development of the Safety Guide for Artisanal Seabob Fishers in Guyana, a practical resource designed to promote safer work practices and strengthen risk awareness among fishing communities. The guide was authored by Barry Parasram, Programme Dean – Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE), and Zaheer Hoosaney, OSHE Lecturer, reflecting the College’s commitment to advancing workplace safety, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and sharing OSHE expertise throughout the Caribbean region.
