WELCOME TO GRADUATION !
Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies
Celebrating Academic Achievement and Excellence
Graduation represents an important milestone in the academic journey of every student. It marks the successful completion of a prescribed programme of study and recognises the commitment, perseverance and achievements of our graduates.
At Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies, graduation is both an academic achievement and an opportunity to celebrate with family, friends and the wider College community.
This page provides information on graduation eligibility, academic clearance, graduation requirements, ceremony arrangements and the issuance of academic credentials.
GRADUATION PROCESS
Students are eligible for consideration for graduation upon successful completion of all prescribed academic requirements for their respective programmes.
The College offers programmes at the following levels:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Associate Degree
- Diploma
- Certificate
The Office of the Registrar conducts degree audits to determine whether students have satisfied the academic requirements for their respective programmes of study. These audits include verification of courses completed, credits earned, applicable exemptions and other prescribed academic requirements.
Students identified as eligible for graduation are notified by email from the Office of the Registrar.
Successful completion of the final semester does not, by itself, constitute formal approval for graduation. The official list of graduands remains subject to the established institutional approval process, including approval by the Board of Governors.
Academic Clearance
Academic clearance is determined through the degree audit process conducted by the Office of the Registrar. This process establishes whether students have fulfilled the prescribed academic requirements for their respective awards.
Financial Clearance
Financial clearance is a separate administrative requirement and does not determine academic eligibility for graduation.
However, graduates must obtain financial clearance before their official academic certificates can be released.
Students are encouraged to settle outstanding financial obligations promptly to avoid delays in collecting their certificates.
Students identified as eligible for graduation are required to complete the Degree Conferral Form by the prescribed deadline.
The form allows graduands to:
- Verify their names exactly as they should appear on their official academic certificates.
- Confirm whether they intend to attend the Graduation and Conferral Ceremony.
- Indicate their participation in related graduation activities.
- Provide information required for graduation planning and the preparation of official documentation.
The Graduation and Conferral Ceremony is the formal occasion at which the College recognises the academic accomplishments of its graduands and confers the respective academic awards.
Participation in the ceremony is separate from academic eligibility for graduation.
Graduands who intend to participate must comply with the College’s arrangements concerning confirmation, payment of applicable fees, academic regalia, rehearsal and ceremony procedures.
Details of the annual ceremony are published in the Graduation Announcements section of this webpage.
Cipriani College recognises outstanding academic performance through its Director’s Honours designation.
Students who satisfy the prescribed criteria, including a qualifying Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, may be considered for this recognition.
The College does not classify academic awards using the First Class Honours and Second Class Honours designations adopted by some other tertiary institutions.
Official academic certificates are issued following completion of the applicable academic approval and administrative processes.
The scroll presented during the Graduation and Conferral Ceremony is ceremonial and does not constitute the official academic certificate.
To collect an official certificate, graduates must have obtained financial clearance and must present valid photo identification. All applicable academic regalia obligations must also have been satisfied.
Where a graduate is unable to collect their certificate personally, an authorized representative may do so upon presentation of a letter of authorization from the graduate and valid photo identification of the person collecting.
Graduates residing outside Trinidad and Tobago will be provided with information concerning the delivery of their certificates, including applicable procedures and charges.
