National Co-operative Conference 2025

Celebrating Co-operative Resilience and Repositioning the Co-operative Movement as a Strategic Driver in National Development”

New Dates: 12th-14th November 2025

The Co-operative Societies Act of 1971 no longer aligns with today’s dynamic economic and social realities. Despite numerous reform proposals, the sector remains underrepresented in strategic national planning and faces challenges in accessing capital. The CCUM Technical Committee aims to catalyze transformative change through this impactful conference.

With over 70 years of legacy, the Co-operative Movement in Trinidad and Tobago stands at a critical juncture. It possesses significant potential to drive inclusive economic growth, empower communities, and enhance financial resilience—yet, outdated legislation, limited government engagement, and systemic inertia have hindered its full realization.

This national conference seeks to reposition the Co-operative Movement as a vital partner in national development. By bringing together policymakers, sector practitioners, youth leaders, and international experts, the event will explore innovative avenues for legislative reform, digital transformation, and inclusive growth. It will also serve as a platform for launching a national co-operative policy framework and a youth innovation challenge, ensuring tangible outcomes extend beyond the event.
