On October 18th 2024, CCLCS hosted the launch of the C.A.R.E.S. (Community-based Action for Resilience, Empowerment and Success) education initiative at the C.L.R. James Auditorium, Valsayn Campus. The event was live streamed to the Tobago campus and online registrants and was attended by senior government officials, Dr. Andre Vincent Henry, Director of CCLCS, and Professor Brian Copeland, ORTT, and Chairman of the Board of CCLCS.
This initiative marks a significant step in the College’s mission to support secondary school students in Trinidad and Tobago, especially those from vulnerable communities. C.A.R.E.S. aims to provide a second chance for students who face barriers in earning a full certificate after their CSEC exams, helping them access resources and support for academic and personal success. The launch celebrated the resilience of young adults who seize opportunities for a brighter future and emphasized the collective commitment of stakeholders to empower youth across the nation.
