Chief Charles Williams
Presentation Title – Kalinago Governance Effectiveness in Dominica
Chief Charles Williams, the Kalinago chief of Dominica from the periods 2004 to 2009 and from 2014-2019 respectively, remains a key advocate for indigenous concerns in the region. A past student of Dominica Grammar School, Chief Williams’ expertise extends to the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, having worked in the banana industry as well as a plant supervisor. He has gone on to extend his expertise in diplomatic circles where he has served on the financial committee for the OAS once more representing the Caribbean region as well as being a nominee for the permanent forum of the UN.
