On Saturday 16th May, 2020, The Ministry of Works and Transport officially opened the Valsayn Pedestrian Walkover. Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport, the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh , Member of Parliament for St Joseph and officials from National Infrastructure Development Company Limited were also present for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Walkover is the latest structure to be completed as part of the Government’s East West Corridor Expansion and Improvement Programme which aims at the eventual removal of traffic lights along Churchill Roosevelt Highway. Construction of the walkover commenced in November 2019 and was completed on schedule. The Ministry of Works and Transport is encouraging members of the public to be responsible and utilise the new walkover .
