Pensions Funds Sensitiation Workshops

This was a six (6) day workshop that sought to provide participants with the requisite knowledge of pension plans and pension fund as well as provide a better understanding of their roles on pension committees, during the collective bargaining process and challenges faced with retirement planning in the interest of their members.

An evaluation of the existing framework that is used in appraising participants were examined, along with a proposal for change and potential impact of these changes to the structure, thereby satisfying the Institute’s objectives to:

  • Establish the discussion on pension plans as part of a larger discourse on social protection.
  • Evaluate the mechanisms which are currently in place to govern pensions.
  • Equip participants with the necessary tools to identify deficiencies in the current paradigm so that they can recommend corrective measures.
