CCLCS: Collaborating to Strengthen the Jamaican Co-operative Movement via training and development services.
Led by Director Dr André Vincent Henry, members of the CCLCS Team including Mr Sheldon Salino, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and Mr Colin Bartholomew, Dean of Co-operative Studies, met with various stakeholders of the Jamaica Co-operative Movement.
These included the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL), the Department of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, the National Union of Co-operative Societies (NUCS) and the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE).
Facilitated by Mr Robin Levy, Group CEO and Ms Vera Lindo, Member Services Manager, and other team members of the JCCUL, the team explored training opportunities and capacity building for both technical officers and co-operators toward introducing contemporary Cooperative best practice for Jamaica and the Caribbean region.
CCLCS’s involvement in this and other initiatives continues to demonstrate our commitment to enhancing the regional social and solidarity economy, contributing to mobilizing community assets, and supporting initiatives for social justice.
