Presentation Title – Justice in the Energy Field: Reconciling Renewable Energy Contracts with the Environmental Impact of Oil and Gas Companies

Mr. Ian Smart holds a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy from the University of New South Wales Australia, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Western Ontario, Canada. He is a former lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and has worked in the energy sector in Trinidad since 1997- National Petroleum, Powergen and British Gas. Mr. Smart is also the owner of Smart Energy Limited, a renewable energy company, in addition to, the Executive Manager for the non- profit Organisation- WE GREEN ARMY.
