CCLCS: Strengthening Labour Networks and Human Development Potential in the Caribbean Region
Members of the CCLCS Team, led by Director Dr André Vincent Henry, met with the Minister of Labour and Social Security, the Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr, M.P., State Minister Dr. the Hon. Norman Dunn, Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Colette Roberts Risden on Wednesday 6 March, 2024 at the Ministry’s headquarters in Kingston.
The meeting explored potential partnerships between the Ministry and CCLCS to upgrade the skills and competencies of its staff.
Fruitful discussions were also held on the re-integration of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JTCU) into the Caribbean Congress of Labour, (CCL). CCLCS’s involvement in this and other initiatives continues to demonstrate our commitment to bolstering regional labour ties, contributing to the resiliency of the Caribbean labour market, and supporting initiatives for decent work and social justice.
Also participating in the meeting were the President of the Caribbean Congress of Labour, Cde M Andre Lewis, General Secretary of the Caribbean Congress of Labour, Mr Michael Annisette, and representatives of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions
