RE: GATE FUNDING FOR TUITION FOR STUDENTS BELOW GPA OF 2.0
This is to confirm previous correspondence to you regarding changes in the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses Programme (GATE). According to the new Government policy, all students must maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 to be considered for GATE funding at Tertiary Level Institutions (TLI) in Trinidad and Tobago.
Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies, as a government funded TLI must comply with this new GATE requirement. Accordingly, students will have their GPA assessed after completion of semester exams to establish their GPA eligibility. Please note that Cipriani students registered in semester 2 of the academic year 2012-2013 who fail to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 will not be funded by the GATE programme. You will be notified by the College of you GPA status after exam grades are computed in January 2013.
Students who earn less than a GPA of 2.0 after exam grades are computed will be de-registered but will be given the option by the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies to pay for their tuition via a tuition payment plan.
For details of the tuition payment plan, please contact the Admissions Department of the College.
